Jack Vettriano was one of three artists commissioned to create a portrait of Billy Connolly as a tribute to the legendary Scottish comedian. Alongside works by John Byrne and Rachel Maclean, the original paintings were exhibited at Glasgow's People's Palace, while giant 50-foot reproductions were displayed at locations across the city.

Vettriano's portrait is inspired by Billy Connolly's World Tour of Scotland television series from 1994, depicting the comedian standing on a storm-lashed coastline near John o' Groats. The dramatic setting perfectly captures Connolly's enduring connection with Scotland.

Only 100 limited edition prints were produced, each signed and numbered by Jack Vettriano.

Dr Connolly, I Presume? was one of Jack Vettriano's most sought-after limited editions, selling out within hours of its original release. Today, examples rarely come onto the secondary market, making it a highly desirable print for both Vettriano collectors and admirers of Billy Connolly.
